Yoga… nourishing food… mindfulness… healthy living… It all sounds pretty familiar today, doesn’t it? But that wasn’t always the case. Julie Montagu was far ahead of the trend when she became the Flexi Foodie.
Julie is not your average entrepreneur. She is an American, living in the UK with four kids and 135k social media followers. How did it all start, you ask? 20 years ago she was moved to the UK with work. After settling down and having four vivacious kids, Julie was tired. More than tired, exhausted. One year after having her fourth child, she was invited to a vinyasa flow yoga class with a friend. Julie was so overwhelmed by finally doing something for herself and feeling so good, she burst into tears while lying on her back in savasna! That’s when she knew. She had to have this feeling of release every single day, so she pursued becoming a yoga teacher.
Julie’s addiction wasn’t just the yoga, it was the overall feeling good! In addition to her yoga practice, she started incorporating healthy foods into her diet – spirulina, green smoothies, chia seeds, quinoa, kale, bee pollen – and she truly felt like a new woman. She felt compelled to share her healthy new habits with her yoga students. After each class, she would leave behind a healthy new innovative recipe… and her students loved it! This truly inspired Julie to start her blog… introducing “Flexi Foodie”.
In less than 10 years, Julie’s brand, “Flexi Foodie” has grown from a mother of four and yoga teacher’s blog, to just finishing her fourth book due to be released 4 January 2018! Additionally, she runs a women’s wellness membership site called Truly Julie, which has monthly self-care themes such as “alleviating anxiety” and “a better you”.
“Wellness doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, it can be easy and inexpensive to achieve.”
All of these things are great but, who has time for healthy living? I mean, eating healthy means hours in the kitchen, right? Julie has found many ways to make her healthy lifestyle easier to achieve and one way is incorporating BFree gluten free Wraps into her daily life. BFree is a brand that she stands behind because they only use real whole foods and never cut corners in quality. They also don’t crack or dry out when rolling. In addition to their core ingredients and brand message, Julie loves that the wraps are so versatile! She also uses the wraps for lasagna sheets and pizza crust! Julie has created super simple and tasty recipes or #wellnesswraps, using BFree Wraps that she is sharing with us!
