❓Do you suffer from chronic fatigue, migraines, dermatitis, infertility/hormone imbalance, nutritional deficiency, mouth ulcers, deteriorated tooth enamel, irritable bowl syndrome (IBS), other autoimmune diseases, Type 1 diabetes, hair loss, depression, have a family history of bowel disease/cancer... we could go on! 🙅🙅♂️ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ If you answered YES to any of the above or just think something is not quite right, speak to your GP about getting tested. You truly can't afford to wait with the detrimental effects of not living a gluten free life, if you are in the 80% of undiagnosed coeliacs. But PLEASE 🙏do NOT start eating gluten free before getting tested! You must be eating of the equivalent of four slices of wheat bread for a minimum six weeks or your results will be inconclusive or potentially even result in a false negative 🙅♀️⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ 👉How long did it take you to get diagnosed? How did it finally happen? Share below! It took 9 YEARS for me. I'll be sharing my story soon xx⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ #yumglutenfree #nocrumbsplease ⠀ ⠀ Follow ➡️ @yumglutenfree⠀ ...
I have type one diabetes and hashimotos disease. It took under 12 months for me to be diagnosed with Coeliac disease.
It took 2 years for me. They tried to tell me I had IBS . I said just because the symptoms are similar doesn't mean I have that. Got Re-tested for Coeliacs and was 100% positive for Coeliacs. Big clue was I have pretty much NO Villi
I started keto diet. No gluten no joint pain 👍
Yep yep yep to almost all the things you mentioned!! It probably took me 15 years or so to be diagnosed, & only have 3 gastroscopies. My daughter was diagnosed at 15, she was 32 when I was finally given an answer but I felt it would eventually come out that I had CD. There are five diagnosed Coeliacs in my immediate family now. I must say having migraines all my life & 3 miscarriages were definitely red flags that no one picked up!! Now at nearly 70 I’m so glad I was finally diagnosed!!!
I was diagnosed 68 years ago and after five years on a gluten free diet the doctor told my mother that I was cured and no longer needed to be on a gluten free diet. I suffered from most of the above symptoms but was not diagnosed again until I was forty. The doctors didn’t believe that I could be coeliac whenever I complained because I didn’t have diarrhea so I continued to be very tired and extremely unhealthy and had three miscarriages. When I insisted on a blood test they were shocked at my results. I feel so much better on a gluten free diet and happy to have a diagnosis that proved that my symptoms were real!
Diagnosed at 45. But I feel I’ve had Celiac all my life. Stomach was always hurting when I was young. Anemic all my life as well. Digestive issues all on my mom’s side of the family. Both my mom, grandfather, and uncle died of colon cancer. I’ve had just about every issue before going gluten free. But recently been experiencing joint pain and not sure why.
Growing up I was skinny to the point people asked if my parents fed me. I broke my arm when I was 18 and a doctor sent me to a dermatologist after seeing welts on my arms (which I thought was acne-related). Turned out to be a form of dermatitis, which led to my testing and diagnosis of coeliac disease. Worst part was learning the gene was hereditary, meaning my mum was diagnosed after I was!
8 years on, I’m a healthy, dad-bod weight, with much better skin and without the need to nap at 3pm every day. Changed my life completely.
If I ate 4 slices of bread a day for 4 weeks I would be in agony and living in the bathroom!
12 years I was first diagnosed with ibs but it should of been for celiacac
Yep 👍 made that mistake
I was losing hair, mouth ulcers, depression, lethargic, irritable bowel, stomach ulcers, even had my gall bladder removed..
After 13 years I was diagnosed Coeliac..
I have since had 2 very early stage cancers removed from my colon and I have damaged my asphuracus ( gastroenteritis )
But... it's taken 4 years and I am what they call stable...
So if I am glutened it is a horrific experience for me, hits in 15 - 20 mins ....

• MAMAS: Any tips for surviving my Glucose Tolerance Test??? Help! ⠀⠀⠀
All the best 😊 I breezed through it - the liquid drink just tasted like flat lemonade to me.
I agree, it is just like a flat lemonade. Whatever you do just make sure you keep it down or it has to be done again 🤦♀️ Goodluck, you will be so fine 🙂
Goodluck! Maybe bring a book to read because there is a bit of waiting involved. 😊
Drink 2L of water before your test 😉
Be thankful that in Australia it is chilled and only a small bottle and Lemon flavour
When I did mine 30 years ago
It was a large cup (think large Cola cup at McDonald’s)
And Room temperature
Looked and tasted like Wallpaper Glue (or what I would imagine it tasted like)
I refused it and did the blood test instead. The nurse and obgyn admitted that if ur low carb then results r probably skewed amyway
Looks awesome must check it out 👌🙂
I vomited mine back up in 20 min on my first go (really don't do well with fasting and had terrible morning sickness!) So the second time I got to lie down and sleep in a spare room!
The glucose test was awful! It made me feel so sick both times. Get to the clinic early so you’re first in line, cancel all plans for the rest of the day and eat something high protein as soon as you’re done! Good luck x
Refused it 🤗
Drink lots of water afterwards to flush it out! You may feel a bit ordinary for the rest of the day!
Take a jumper or a little blanket as it gets cold in there. Take something good to eat post the test. Afterwards go home and have a rest as it really takes it out of you. A book, movies on your phone / tablet, & even a small pillow to lean on. Good luck ✌️
Oh congratulations!!! That is wonderful news!!!
Make sure your phone is fully charged! And something to drink after! And food!
Try and get the first appointment. It doesn’t taste bad, just a strong cordial drink.
But it’s the hunger that’s a pain. Maybe a pillow as there seats are horrible and they make you sit and not move much
It's really not so bad. Just boring sitting around so long. Take a laptop to keep busy? Get earliest appointment and have a snack ready for straight after.
Bring a book or your laptop if you have work to do to kill the time .. with Arnhem I got really sick during, and with Remy I was fine xx good luck xx
It's really no big deal. Just get it done. Watch something on your phone. The drink is just a really sugary koolaid, flat lemon or orange aide ... People make a big thing of it, but it isn't a big thing at all for most ...
I'm 24 weeks now, so guess it's due to come up soon. Fortunately during pregnancy I lost my sweet tooth 🤗
I did the tolerance test and had hyperemesis gravidarum. It was very challenging! Have something super salty on hand to have afterwards. Good luck!

TWO YEARS MARRIED 29.12.2017 💍 We have so many exciting things to share about our trip home to the USA but today is dedicated to my husband, who lovingly calls me his "GF Wife for Life" 😂 ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ For my single GF friends out there, can I just say that waiting for the perfect partner is worth it. Wait for the one that won’t think it’s weird when you ask a zillion questions before dining out. The one that will learn to ask the questions for you when you just don’t have the energy. The one that understands when food anxiety kicks in from out of nowhere and not question your needs. The one that will even eat 100% GF in the house just so you always have a safe place 🙏 An anniversary tribute to my amazing man, because men need to be honoured too ❤️ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 📷 Philip Casey Photography 👗 BHLDN ⛪️ 701 Whaley • By Invitation Only...Event Planning & Design⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #yumglutenfree #nocrumbsplease #gfhusband #coeliac #coeliacdisease #celiac #celiacdisease #husbandsofinstagram #love #anniversary ...
